Presenting you the shortest yet complete article on blogging. Real, sincere, and no-quick money scheme. Blogging is a genuine, long-term, potential, and trending business option for everyone!

The importance of content is rising every second. Whether it’s Google, Facebook, or any small, larger, or enterprise company—everyone is looking for the next piece of great content.

Hence, bloggers are a valuable resource for Google and all.

Back in 1996 when Bill Gates quoted that, “Content is King”; no one would have thought it would be so relevant even after 25 years. There is a rush, heavy competition, and upsurge in the world for content creation (for all forms—video, podcast, graphics, and blog).

It’s not shocking to say that this quote will remain relevant for the next 25 years. But, due to heavy competition, it would rather be;

Great content is king.

In this shortest guide on Blogging, I will show you the path of a blogging career—from the point of start to monetization. The link will be provided for detailed insight.

Let’s start with a few preparations

shortest guide on blogging key points

Before You Start!

An unplanned start will lead you nowhere. Therefore, even in this shortest guide on Blogging, I will sincerely stress 3 important preparation for blogging.

1. Blogging Mindset

Mindset matters—whether it’s starting a blog or business.

Bloggers majorly fail because they target money in the beginning. If you are reading this and planning to start blogging, I first want you to change the mindset behind it. You need a better reason to start blogging, than just money.

2. Requirements to Start Blogging?

Resources are always needed to start anything—blogging is no different. You need 4 essential requirements to start blogging.

Consistency is the #1 reason for blogging success. Writing skills, graphics, WordPress development, and marketing skills—be ready to learn. You have to choose the name of your website. And, of course, a small investment is needed to purchase hosting & a domain name.

3. Niche & Domain Name

The general niche is dangerous because clarity is lost. So, fix one that suits your interest, passion, and expertise. You can even opt for micro-niches. Trending topics makes better niches as well. For example, the metaverse is a great niche, and just like this, there are various niches that you can consider.

Fixing your domain name is another necessity. Just like your parents gave you a name. You need to give a name to your website. A unique name!

Steps to Start Blogging

So far we were just preparing, it’s time for some action now.

1. Purchase Hosting

Hosting is like a piece of land, which is a must to build a house (a website). A poor piece of land will not handle the load of your growing house and ultimately fall. So, let’s take NO risk. Purchase quality hosting.

When I purchased hosting for NxtDecade, building TRUST in anyone on the internet was tough, because everyone was promoting everything for commission-based earning.

I have tried several hosts but found Bluehost as the best. Here is my Bluehost review

If you trust any other hosting, feel free to purchase that. But I personally recommend only Bluehost, because I use it for my 2 websites, also helped more than 15 blogging students to purchase, and they never complained.

If you have purchased successfully; Congratulations.

Still confused: Connect me on Facebook or LinkedIn.

2. WordPress Website Setup

Plate is really needed but you eat only burger.

Hosting is really needed, but your major work will be on WordPress. Set a strong password, activate 2-step authentication for your Bluehost hosting account, and click on “Login Into WordPress” to start with WordPress.

Your website will be built using WordPress. No Coding is needed. 40% of the website you see on the internet are on WordPress. So, let’s trust it. No more discussion on it!

If you already know WordPress, it’s great! Else you will know the basics very well in less than 2 days. You need to do the following things once you are on WordPress:

options to use wordpress like theme, customize, plugins, users, settings, etc

WordPress is popular for its customization ability. This means you can make it look and work in whatever manner you want.

To do so, keep learning new features and keep adding them to make it looks better every day. Set logo, add new users, set up “author bio“, header, homepage, category pages, footer, sidebar, posts layout, etc.

These are easy and once done, you need just great content, which we will discuss in the content strategy section.

3. Content Strategy

Once the website is set up, take content strategy seriously for your blogging career because purchasing hosting is a one-time 15-20 minutes of work, understanding WordPress is also possible in a couple of weeks, BUT content strategy is a long-time, evolving, and growing requirement for your blog.

Take a piece of paper and list out the article that you will publish, when to publish, and why to publish, for one month. That’s what content strategy is!

Focus on quality content and stay targeted to your niche.

4. Marketing

Marketing is unavoidable if you want growth.

No matter how great your content is, or how useful your product is, without marketing, you won’t get readers or make sales. Marketers are using different approaches to attract customers and introduce their products.

Marketing methods such as Outbound marketing, Inbound marketing, Guerilla marketing, Micro-influencer marketing, LinkedIn marketing, Content marketing, and many others.

Digital marketing is easy; demands consistency and quality.

5. Monetization

Everyone needs money, and it’s okay to work for money. Blogging makes millions for bloggers, and no one can deny that it’s a serious, genuine, real business option.

That’s why I do it! So far I have made $700 in the past 4 months, planning to apply for AdSense soon (to add another source of income)

There are tons of great ways to make money from blogging. Keep writing regularly and slowly you will see the flow of money. Some are listed below:

4. Upgradation & Power-up marketing

Once you have a well customized and built WordPress blog, with a structured content strategy, and marketing.

You can power-up your blogging career by purchasing premium theme, premium plugins, premium marketing tools, hiring team members, setting up an office, etc. An organized way into blogging.

What's next

In my opinion, blogging is the beginning of something BIG.

With a successful blog, you have good passive income, audience, experience, team, and platform. It’s much easier to turn it into a full-fledged business.

Here is my opinion:

Blogging is the easiest mode of entry into Digital Business”.

Satay Prakash (Co-founder, NxtDecade)

Take my own example; I want to build several SaaS tools, but it’s not affordable for me in the beginning. But with NxtDecade, I have gained enough experience, team, platform, money, and network to easily scale up into multiple SaaS-based business models.
