Whether it’s a business or blog—you always need something to get started!
So, what do you need to start a blog?
To start a blog, you need 5 things. These five basic blogging requirements are resources without which starting and scaling your blogs would be difficult.
Also, blogging requires comparatively less resources and effort than any other forms of online business. In fact, negligible resources are required as compared to other businesses such as eCommerce brand or a startup.
And among all these 5 basic blogging requirements that I will mention in this article, you might already have 3 of them.
While the remaining requirements are easily manageable.
1. Laptop or Desktop (Big Screen)
Do you want to enjoy blogging?
If yes!
Then do it on a BIG screen.
A laptop is best; as you can carry it around with you to the park, library, on your weekend trip, etc., and create your blog post in your every free time, everywhere.
But remember—don’t mess up things.
The desktop is perfect too! In fact, desktops helps you organize your day and avoid messing up things. You do blogging at one place, and at a fixed time and therefore you will probably do it better.
I guess most of you have a laptop or desktop. In case, you don’t have one, here are some of my recommended laptops on Amazon.
Starting/doing blogging through mobile phones is not easy.
But definitely, it’s not impossible.
2. Writing Skills
A blog can have different types of content—videos, image, graphics, stats, lists, and text articles.
However, writing skill is a common need in a majority of them. You should be good enough at expressing your though, ideas opinions in written format.
If you have skills in graphics designing like (Canva, PhotoShop, WordPress, etc.) then, it’s a great, as so many times you need to design feature images, logos, infographics, etc. If you are not aware, then you can learn as you move ahead in your blogging journey.
Blog writing is easy because there is no borderline. It’s not a research paper writing where you need to take care of strict guidelines.
Simply, grab your laptop and write whatever you think, in the most simple and interesting manner.

3. Consistent Time
Consistent time and effort are universal requirements for any work.
You always need to give consistent time for any business you start. Without consistency in your time and effort; you end up nowhere. So, prepare yourself—restructure your habits, and fix at least 2 hours a day for blogging. (if you are doing it as a side hustle)
And, once you are confident about its success—make it a full-time hustle.
As a side hustle; blogging requires about 10-15 hours per week, and in about 1-2 years, you develop enough audience, content, and readers to shift it as a full-time blogger.
But, if you start it full time, blogging requires not more than 8-12 months to be successful, however with the right strategies, direction, and constant effort 8-12 hours every day.

5. Team (optional)
This is an optional requirements of blogging, but I consider it important after your blogging grows to an average level.
You can start blogging alone, grow it and earn a high passive income.
However, I highly recommend building a winning team (of just two or three members also works).
Your team will share the workload and earnings, and make your blogging journey more exciting. Your probability of success becomes multiple times as your teammates will be putting their time, skill and effort, and investment into the growth of your blog.
Blogging requires a team with the following work type:
- Content head
- Marketing head
- WordPress Management head
- A leader connecting all team members

I guess these 5 requirements for blogging are easy to manage.
Time, team, and writing skills—something that is obvious. Laptop or desktop—most of you already have it.
Lastly, the investment amount for hosting your blog. That is manageable as well—as it cost not more than the cost of a pizza per month.
